Savant Introduces the ROSIE System 3

Osterville, MA. September, 2008– Savant Systems LLC, having led the convergence of an open architecture platform to integrate automation and control, A/V switching, and general purpose computers, has announced the introduction of the ROSIE System 3 multi–room audio distribution platform. The rack mountable ROSIE System 3 is equipped with an integrated controller and three configurable card slots, making the System 3 ideal for whole–house audio distribution with a capacity of up to 8 stereo audio inputs and up to 16 stereo audio outputs, depending on the modules selected. The System 3 delivers audiophile performance utilizing eight internal 24Bit/96K digital audio paths.

The ROSIE System 3 can be configured to handle up to two zones of 7.1 surround sound processing including the most popular Dolby® and DTS decoders, as well as video processing and scaling. The System 3 also incorporates control distribution for the complete line of ROSIE keypads and touch panels, which also include mobile devices, remotes, and on–screen displays (OSD). Each user interface provides highly flexible control over all music sources connected to the System 3, and provides user feedback on the status of the system. As an example, ROSIE touch panels connected to the System 3 will display artist, album cover art, album name, genre, playlist, and more.

In addition to the System 3's 8X8 or 8X16 input/output capacity, it also has the ability to stream an additional eight audio sources simultaneously and independently from a ROSIE iTunes® Media Server through the rear panel FireWire port, enabling any song from even a vast music collection to be distributed throughout the home. The ROSIE System 3 uses standard rack mounts and is available now at an starting MSRP of $6,800.
